The Proposal

To get to the point of a wedding, there is normally a proposal first, but in Holland this is not usual. E and I decided together to get married, so technically we proposed to each other. I got a nice dinner out of it, including sweet words from him. The money of the engagement ring we spend on the actual wedding ring. And this is how it was special to me. But, of course, there are many cute, romantic, and funny ways to propose and it's always nice to have a look at them. Here are some ideas.

My Inspiration

Besides decoration, weddings, and food, there are so many more things that I love. That's why I've decided to have an 'inspiration' section for my posts. I will include general things that I'm impressed by, taken from the books I read, movies and TV shows I watch, and anything I stumble on, such as flowers and their colors, sweet animals, nature, architecture, and so on. I hope I can inspire you too!

My Love for Food

'Lekker!' That's the Dutch word for 'delicious' or 'yummy'. And that is a word you will hear me say A LOT.

I like trying out and combining recipes that I come across either in my cookbooks or on the Internet. I will soon be sharing some of those as well as my husband's and his friends' verdict. Stay tuned!

Our House

On February 14, 2010, we got the keys to our new place in Munich (no doubt we got off to a romantic start!), and we soon realized that we had to start combining our colors if we wanted to avoid having a pink apartment. In fact, most of the stuff we brought from Holland was mine, since E didn't really have (and I quote him) 'anything of taste'. So, we made sure we added some more colors, such as blue and purple. By now, we're able to call it our home.
