Globes

I always had a passion for traveling and for the world. I saw a lot, but my list is still long. When I moved to Germany, I came in touch with different cultures and 'countries', since all my friends are from somewhere else of the world. With all this global friendships and my relation to an Argentine, I started loving globes and their symbol for me. Starting my future collection with a silver globe, which we got as a wedding gift from very good friends of ours, saying: 'We wish you all the luck of the world'. How sweet and symbolic is that! Then I made a painting with an surrealistic map (I got complains about Australia from an Australian and I think he's right). And as a third piece we bought a small one in Barcelona (the snow globe from NYC doesn't count for my collection). Who knows where we find our next globe...

Sunny Balcony

I love the fact that we have a balcony. In winter, there is not much going on but, in summer, I like to decorate it. Every year, I change something in the decoration and plants, which makes it a different balcony for each summer. This year, I found this really cute table that only needed to be spray-painted white. And, while I was at it, I spray-painted the old soup cans, from last year's decoration, also white.

Colorful Statement

A big dream of mine is to have a Smeg fridge in my kitchen. They are not cheap, so I think I'll start saving already... but to be honest, I think they're worth saving my pennies. It's a big investment but this piece of art will make a statement in your kitchen!

PS: I want the dark navy blue one... *sigh*

They even have a jeans version

Pink and Blue is Purple

When I met E, the main color of the decoration in my apartment was pink. Then, he moved in and although he didn't mind the girly color, he didn't like it either. It turns out his favorite color is blue, so I slowly started to add blue decoration. But this color was too masculine for me. I mean... from pink to blue at once is hard! So, I figured, if you mix pink with blue, you get purple! It also turned out to be our wedding color, as a symbol of our love combined together.

Our House

On February 14, 2010, we got the keys to our new place in Munich (no doubt we got off to a romantic start!), and we soon realized that we had to start combining our colors if we wanted to avoid having a pink apartment. In fact, most of the stuff we brought from Holland was mine, since E didn't really have (and I quote him) 'anything of taste'. So, we made sure we added some more colors, such as blue and purple. By now, we're able to call it our home.
